For Norman's show name. It's Japanese and means "big boy". It fits him, and it kinda sounds like mountain. lol

About The Horses

Norman is a 2004 American Cream Draft gelding. His breeder gave him away because she didn't like his color (kind of like a Paint coming out solid). Chestnut is undesirable for the breed and I guess it somehow makes them less valuable. I disagree. I see it as unique and rare. Who else has a chestnut American Cream? Nobody, that's who.
I call him my dressage/driving/hunter prospect. One of these days, he's going to be a successful show horse. He has to learn to get into the trailer first, though. For now, he's a trail horse. A rather lazy one at that. He's like a really big stuffed animal. Cuddling is what he does best, second only to his eating abilities (which are legendary, even by draft standards). His personality is his best quality-- he gives me something to laugh about every day.

Victor was foaled March 11, 2000, registered with the Jockey Club and is unraced. I got him when he was six and we've been partners in crime ever since. He was infamous at our old barn for his dragon-like disposition, although I've always found him irresistible. He's the most difficult horse I've ever ridden, but I'm grateful for that, because he's taught me more than any push-button lesson horse ever could.
We've competed a little bit in halter, showmanship, and English equitation, but he excels in halter. When we're not showing, he's primarily my trail horse and yard decoration. He's particularly fond of peanut butter Girl Scout cookies and peppermints, which he despairs at having to share with his brother.
